- Move vehicles. Park your vehicles outside and far enough away so that the garage door technician can park near the door opening.
- Tidy up the garage. Move equipment, tools, garbage cans, materials and belongings so that the front half of the garage is empty. This allows the technician enough room to work, set up a ladder or use a lift, and stage material.
- Limit access to the work area. Ask people to stay out of the garage while technicians are working. If the work area is also your home, take extra care to keep kids and pets from entering the garage.
